About
Arlene Butler, LCSW
The Old Fox is Arlene Butler, who is a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) in both Virginia and Illinois.
Many years ago, I completed an undergraduate degree in Human Services from Northeastern University in Boston and a masters in Social Work from Boston College.
I have almost 4 decades of clinical and program development experience, working with many varied populations in urban, suburban, and rural communities. During these years of service, I have worked with people with physical disabilities, youth, veterans, people with long term mental illness, people with all types of addictions and their love ones, people with HIV/AIDS, LGBT, seniors and their families and caregivers, domestic violence survivors, survivors of sexual abuse, people with terminal illness and their families, and people with ADD. I employ a practical and no nonsense approach, using humor, caring support, and directed action to assist people in making the changes that they desire.
Unafraid to address any issue, and willing to walk with my clients through the storms of life, I enjoy working with anyone old enough to drive. All genders and pairings are welcomed. I acknowledge and appreciate that those that choose to work with me are courageous, and want to understand and improve their current situation.
Unfortunately, I am unable to accept new clients at this time.
